Accessibility

Last reviewed: November 4, 2026

Bravovalley LLC wants everyone to be able to use what we make, including people who use a screen reader, screen magnification, voice control, a keyboard instead of a mouse, or larger text. This statement covers:

  • bravotechsystems.com, including the Puentes Matamoros pages, privacy notice and terms
  • bravovalley.us
  • the Puentes Matamoros app for iPhone and Android

Our standard

We hold these sites and the app to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Texas website accessibility standard (Texas Administrative Code, Title 1, §206.70). Both rest on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), published by the World Wide Web Consortium.

Our target is WCAG 2.1 at Level A and Level AA. Where WCAG 2.2 adds Level AA criteria, such as a minimum size for buttons and links and keeping keyboard focus in view, we follow those too.

WCAG is written for websites. For the app, we apply every criterion that makes sense on a phone, as Section 508 does for software, and build on the accessibility features already in iOS and Android.

What that means in practice

On the websites:

  • Everything works with a keyboard alone, and the item in focus is always clearly marked.
  • Pages use real headings and regions, start with a “Skip to main content” link, and label every form field. If a field needs fixing, the message says which one and is tied to it.
  • Text has a contrast of at least 4.5:1 (3:1 for large text, buttons and icons).
  • Pages fit a screen 320 pixels wide without sideways scrolling, and still work zoomed to 200%.
  • Each page says whether it is in English or Spanish, so screen readers use the right voice.
  • Images have a text alternative, or are marked as decoration when they add nothing.
  • Colour is never the only way something is shown: every wait time is written in minutes, and its colour only repeats it.
  • If your device asks for reduced motion, we don’t animate.

In the Puentes Matamoros app:

  • Every button and control has a name and a role for VoiceOver (iPhone) and TalkBack (Android), and choices say whether they are selected.
  • Text grows with the text size set on your phone.
  • Charts and maps have a description in words.
  • The app follows your phone’s light or dark appearance, and both meet the same contrast.
  • The coloured dots that mark wait speed, and on/off switches, keep at least 3:1 contrast.
  • With Reduce Motion (iPhone) or Remove animations (Android) on, nothing moves on its own.
  • The app is in English and Spanish, and follows your phone’s language unless you choose one.

How we check

  • An automated accessibility checker (axe-core) runs on every page of the websites.
  • We test by hand: keyboard only, a 320-pixel-wide screen, 200% zoom, and contrast measured for every colour we use.
  • Every screen of the app is reviewed for names, roles and states before it ships.
  • We are adding regular testing with VoiceOver and TalkBack on real phones to every app release.
  • When we change a page or a screen, we check it again. Fixes are listed on the updates page.

Known limitations

These are the gaps we know of, and what to do in the meantime:

  • Puentes Matamoros app, language. If you set the app to a different language from your phone, VoiceOver and TalkBack may read it with your phone’s voice. Using the same language in both avoids this.
  • Content from others. Wait times published by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, maps from Apple and Google, and the App Store and Google Play pages are made by others. We show them as accessibly as we can but can’t change how they are made.

Tell us about a problem

If anything on these sites or in the app is hard or impossible for you to use, please email jesus.torres@bravotechsystems.com, in English or Spanish. To help us fix it faster, include:

  • what the problem is, and what you were trying to do
  • the web address, or the app screen and your phone (iPhone or Android)
  • the assistive technology you use, if any
  • the format you would like the information in, if you need it another way
  • how we can reach you

We aim to reply within two business days. Reporting a problem never costs anything and never requires an account.

Other formats

Anything on these sites or in the app, such as the privacy notice, the terms of use or the current wait times, can be sent to you another way: as plain text in an email, as a large-print document, or in another format you need. Ask at the address above.
